29th AU Summit Concludes, Eritrea Tyrant Between A Rock and A Hard Place!
05 July 2017
The 29th AU Summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, concluded yesterday, 4 July 2017, uneventful after making decisions on, inter alia, the issue of the tense Djibouti-Eritrea border row. In that regard the Summit heard the report of AU's Fact-finding mission to Djibouti and in a closing press conference (watch below), the Chairperson of AUC Dr. Moussa Faki Mahamat, told reporters that next the AU was sending a similar/same Fact-finding mission headed by the Commissioner for Peace and Security, Ambassador Ismail Chergui, to Asmara seeking Eritrea tyrant's word for access to the contested territory along the Djibouti-Eritrea border in order to assess what the situation is and the way forward with delimitation and demarcation of the Djibouti/Eritrea border as requested by Djibouti and reiterated by IGAD. Now Eritrea tyrant finds himself between a rock and a hard place, so to speak! Whatever the tyrant's word, it is damning either way!
For the record: Dr. Faki also said that Qatar notified Djibouti not only about withdrawal of its troops but also the end of Qatar's mediator role of the case for good!
