AU Summit: Regional conflicts incl.Djibouti/Eritrea border row high on Agenda

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia--The 29th African Union Summit, 03-04 July 2017, kicked off today in Ethiopia. High on the agenda are regional conflicts including Djibouti/Eritrea border row triggered following withdrawal of Qatari peacekeeping troops along their common border.
 "The situation in South Sudan, Somalia, Libya, the Central African Republic, the tense relation between Djibouti and Eritrea, the difficulties in implementing the peace agreement in Mali where the jihadist terrorism is very active and political situation in some African countries such as the DRC, Burundi, Guinea Bissau are the major concerns,"AU Chariman said in his opening statement.
